Sting (Banned from Server)

I recently went thru training on the SU-25T.  I was in mission using my RWR and I thought the SAMS were hostile and fired my 58s at them.  I thought I had flown to the waypoint or they were radiating from an active way point that was considered hostile.  The first time I was disconnected I thought it was internet trouble, the second time I caught the message before disconnected.  I apologize it was not deliberate.  I am simply having trouble finding the active waypoint and there is no AWACS to verify targets and apparently the ELINT pod really picks up a long ways out.  There is not enough messages frequently listing the currently active waypoint they are to few and far between.

Hi Sting, i was currently flying in an A10 whilst you were in the server. 

 

Before unbanning you, i'm going to suggest you do some more training, especially using HSI and general navigation in the SU25T. I realize you are new to the game, but you really should be concentrating on the basics before wanting to blow stuff up.

 

I suggest you do more single player or go on to another server like a Virtual Aerobatics server to practice. Don't take it personally but your actions upset a few people. Taking out SA11s ain't cool.

Dude, I did all the training missions for the SU-25T for a week before flying.  I can get from waypoint to way point using the HSI.  The problem the first time I don't understand why I even was firing on friendly since I got locked up for starts and second of all I was at waypoint 2 flying for the red team.  The second time I flew two waypoints and was locked up again and I had radar tones on my RWR which I know how to use and I locked up what was visible on ELINT.  There was nothing visible in the general area of waypoint 2 even though something had a solid lock on me.  Now it may upset people that I shot down SA-11 but I believed they were enemy and I was getting mixed signals the second time.  I deliberately chose to do a mission with Anti Radar missles on the red team specifically for SAM hunting.  This time I will just make absolutely sure I am at the waypoint and if I get locked up again and see nothing I'll just go down.  I have flown on this server for months now without any problems because I train before I go this was just a case of getting locked up not seeing anything and battlefield confusion.  Not to mention there was nobody flying for Russian team in air to ground and no active waypoint messages to tell me which way point was active.

 

Now this is partly my fault because I didn't realize Elint picks up so many miles away and I thought the sams were simply strewn out long distances,  Turned out not to be the case so I will stay in the general area of waypoints from now on and double check the active waypoint with someone before I go SAM hunting.  You can let all those upset people on the blue team know I did not shoot down blue assets as that is what I was hunting for the red team.  I switched to blue to ask because I never got a friendly fire before and I didn't understand the message which should also tell you I am generally accurate.

We pride ourselves in the 104th as being as helpful as possible to the whole community, so as you are having a couple of teething problems in the 25T, I am offering my help and will give you a lesson navigating it and general weapon use. Look for me on TS and poke me, I'm around most times. I can't see any reason after the lesson to not let you fly again. Hope you take me up on my offer.

Sting has been unbanned. He was able to navigate to the target area unaided. Now knows and understands that friendly SAMs also paint friendly aircraft too.  Unfortunately Teamspeak died on us just as we arrived at Alpha, but i'm confident he wont make the same mistake again. Unbanned.
