Synergy
Do you really need trackIR 5 and how can I turn V-SYNC on in this game? IronMike
You don't really need trackIr 5, but it is an amazing addition to your game. grab it, if you can. concerning vsync: you find it under "options" in your singleplayer GUI under the systems tab on the right side. We're all happy to help, mate, but some stuff, like vsync, you could figure out on your own by simply getting a little bit familiar with your DCS. Pls also consider to put several questions into one topic, help related stuff should be posted in the Help Desk section. No need to start a new topic for each question... S! Manawar
I wouldon't dream of flying any Sim without TrackIR. You mention vsync? Do you have an Nvidia card?
:Stuge
No I am salivating about Oculus Rift though. Just for immersion purposes.. V-Sync can be forced from your graphics card control panel (Nvidia/ATI) if there's no option ingame (I honestly don't remember)
Highway
As IronMike said, VSync option is in the Single Player Options screen. As for forcing graphics options from your graphics control panel, always set them for Application Controlled Only. Anotherwords, let DCS control your graphics. Forcing any graphic option like Anti aliasing through my Control Centre always gives me less fps. Have to agree with you on Oculus Rift though. Can't wait. IronMike
I tested Oculus Rift - you should wait until it is supported better. The immersion is incredible, but resolution, etc is still off. The big big downside: you cannot see your hands at all! On a hotas, you could train that, but if you need any keyboard input, etc - it becomes really wierd.

This will be a prime show stopper if they dont solve this "cant see my hands" problem cause every hotas only has a certain amount of buttons and the MiG-21bis for sure has more buttons than any Hotas can hold. I am happy with the TIR I just got, strange enuff to wear that gear, now they want us to put that thing on...it needs more time to ripe I guess. IronMike
that's what I would say. Now, with some "occulus gloves" or so and fully clickable cockpits and fully virtual hands (that would also detect the finger movement on the hotas for example), it would be a blast of course. but honestly, first thing for them to fix is the resolution. apart from that the experience is amazing, you can actually see ie in the A10 that the right front dash is lifted upwords towards the front dash, you can lean out of the cockpit, you can stand up and look beyond the canopy, you have to twist your entire body to look back... all that is great, alas the resolution is poor and you need a buddy to push the bottons lol, which my friend did for me. Tricky11
put it this way.. if I was to fire up my pc tomorrow and my trackir died... I would be switching the pc straight back off again as I won't play with out it now. I don't just play dcs, I also do a lot of sim racing and a bit of arma and I won't do any of them without it now. And I agree.. The DK2 is good and adds a lot of immersion to the game but the resolution really let's it down.I personally think they will need to go higher than 4k to make it worth while and to be honest I can't see it happening anytime soon... let alone being able to get a pc to run dcs at a super high resolution at 75FPS but we will see..lol
Manawar
agreed! I did play for a short time when I first started flying without a TrackIR. Now that I have one I could never dream of flying without one. I could NOT do it!
IronMike
To new players I still recommend: NO, you DO NOT NEED IT! Yes, it is great, and once you get used to it, it is hard to imagine to get used back. But I had both, started without, had one, had none for two years and now have one again. The one pilot, who leads the PVP board for the past years, our dear Maverick, does not fly with it. So, is it a must? no, it is not. First: think if you like and love the sim and if investments that huge are really good for you. You can always get it once you are sure this will be a long term hobby. plaiskool
